What is Strong Republic Personal Training?
Strong Republic is the ONLY personal training studio in the Coachella Valley that exclusively serves adults 40 and older. We have three locations in Palm Desert, La Quinta, and Palm Springs, offering semi-private training, stretch therapy, and nutrition guidance specifically designed for mature adults.
Do I need to be in shape already to start training?
Absolutely not! We specialize in working with adults 40+ at ALL fitness levels, including complete beginners. Many of our members hadn't exercised in years before joining. Our trainers are experts at meeting you where you are and creating a safe, effective program that builds from your current abilities.
What is the 14-Day Jump Start program?
The 14-Day Jump Start is our trial program that lets you experience Strong Republic with zero long-term commitment. Choose either 4 sessions for $149 or 6 sessions for $199 over a 14-day period. You'll train with our certified coaches, experience semi-private training, and decide if we're right for you.
What should I bring to my first session?
Bring comfortable workout clothes, athletic shoes with good support, a water bottle, and a towel. Also bring any information about medical conditions or injuries we should know about. Most importantly, bring a willingness to learn - we'll handle the rest!
How do I book my first session?
Training & Programs
What is semi-private training?
Semi-private training means you work out with 2-4 other people under the guidance of a certified trainer. Everyone gets a personalized program tailored to their goals, but you train in a small group. This costs significantly less than one-on-one training ($33-44/session vs $80-150) while still providing personal attention and expert coaching.
What does a typical session look like?
A typical 50-minute session includes: warm-up (5-10 minutes), strength training (30-35 minutes) with 4-6 exercises tailored to your program, and cool-down (5-10 minutes) with stretching. Your trainer demonstrates each exercise, watches your form, provides corrections, and tracks your progress.
Do you offer stretch therapy?
Yes! We offer professional stretch therapy as an add-on service. Flexibility and mobility become increasingly important after 40. Our stretch therapy helps improve range of motion, reduce muscle tension, prevent injury, and enhance recovery from strength training.
Do you provide nutrition guidance?
Yes! All members receive nutritional guidance as part of their membership. We also offer Strong Elite Nutrition coaching for more comprehensive support. Our approach focuses on sustainable nutrition strategies specifically designed for adults 40+.
Can I train with my spouse or friend?
Absolutely! Many of our members train with spouses, partners, or friends. You'll be in the same semi-private session together, but each of you will still get a personalized program. Training together provides extra accountability and makes fitness more enjoyable.
Pricing & Membership
How much does personal training cost?
Strong Republic offers three membership tiers: Good (4 sessions/month) at $69/week, Better (8 sessions/month) at $89/week, and Best Value (12 sessions/month) at $99/week (only $33/session). We also offer a 14-Day Jump Start for $149 (4 sessions) or $199 (6 sessions) to try before committing.
Are there contracts or long-term commitments?
No long-term contracts required. While we recommend consistency for best results, we don't lock you into year-long agreements. Our memberships are month-to-month, and you can start with our 14-Day Jump Start to try before committing to any membership.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and ACH bank transfers for monthly memberships. Payment is processed automatically on your membership renewal date.
Adults 40+ Specific
Why do you only train adults 40+?
Adults 40+ have different needs than younger clients - different recovery times, joint considerations, hormonal changes, injury histories, and life demands. By specializing exclusively in this age group, our trainers become experts in age-appropriate programming and create a community where everyone is at a similar life stage.
I have joint pain and old injuries. Can I still train?
Yes! Most of our members have some joint issues or old injuries when they start. Our trainers are experienced in working around injuries and creating modifications that keep you safe while still building strength. Bad shoulder? We adjust pressing exercises. Knee issues? We modify squats and lunges.
How long does it take to see results?
Most adults 40+ notice meaningful results within 4-6 weeks of consistent training (2-3 sessions/week). You'll feel better (energy, mood, sleep) within 2 weeks, notice strength gains by week 3-4, see others comment on changes by week 6-8, and experience significant transformation by 12 weeks.
Can you work around my health conditions?
In most cases, yes! We work with members who have various health conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, and more. We'll discuss your situation, may request clearance from your doctor if needed, and create a safe, effective program for your condition.
Is strength training safe for adults over 50?
Yes. In fact, strength training is one of the most important forms of exercise for adults over 50. Proper strength training helps preserve muscle mass, improve bone density, support healthy metabolism, reduce the risk of falls, and maintain independence as we age. At Strong Republic, every workout is customized to your fitness level, injury history, and goals to ensure you train safely and effectively.
How many times per week should adults over 40 train?
For most adults over 40, we recommend strength training two to three times per week. This schedule provides enough stimulus to build strength, improve fitness, and support healthy aging while allowing adequate recovery between workouts. Consistency is more important than spending hours in the gym, which is why many of our members achieve excellent results training just 2 to 3 times per week.
Can strength training improve bone density?
Yes. Strength training is one of the most effective ways to support healthy bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis as we age. When muscles pull against bones during resistance exercise, the body responds by strengthening bone tissue. This is especially important for adults over 40 who want to maintain mobility, independence, and long-term health.

Where are your locations?
Strong Republic has three locations: Palm Desert at 77780 Country Club Dr. Suite A1, La Quinta at 78575 CA-111, Suite 400, and Palm Springs at 4741 E. Palm Canyon Suite E. All locations are private, air-conditioned studios with ample free parking.
What are your hours?
All three locations are open Monday-Friday 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We're closed on Sundays. Sessions are scheduled throughout the day to accommodate different schedules.
Which location should I choose?
Choose the location most convenient to your home or work. All three facilities offer the same high-quality training and welcoming atmosphere. Palm Desert serves Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and Rancho Mirage. La Quinta serves La Quinta, Indio, and Indian Wells. Palm Springs serves Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Desert Hot Springs.
